During a recent meeting the discussion moved to connecting an organization’s mission to the innovations they would be looking for and investing in. I found the impact innovation model provided a convenient way to talk about programs and partnerships that could be used in different stages of developing investable opportunities for the organization. That discussion lead to pondering a bit more about how the model would be used by a specific organization with some subtle, but valuable adjustments to the names of the four parts of the model, shown below.
